ECOLOGICAL PAINTS

are composed of natural raw materials, non-polluting in their production and are suitable for people with allergies
conventional paints and varnishes contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may adversely harmful to the environment and health. For this reason, Some paint brands marketed for years called "eco-friendly paints." These products are made of vegetable raw materials and / or mineral or non-polluting in its production or its implementation. In addition, paints and varnishes are manufactured specifically for people with allergies. To differentiate, look for the eco-label that guarantees the absence of toxic substances.

Main advantages

considered ecological paints are composed of natural raw materials of vegetable and / or mineral. No harmful substances such as biocides or plasticizers, and its environmental impact is much lower than synthetic products based on petroleum. According to a study commissioned by the Keim paint brand to Trischler & Partner Engineering, Freiburg (Germany), the environmental impacts of organic mineral silicate paint over a period of 50 years are "significantly below" those of a painting plastic. The study, conducted in a house of 200 square meters, revealed that the painting Keim silicate type saves 12,000 joules of energy consumption, emissions 80 m³, 100,000 gallons of sewage, solid waste 170 liters and 560 kilograms dioxide carbon.

Ecolabelling

"The eco-labels are a recommendation from the European Union for the consumer to know the toxicity and hazards of the chemical components contained in the products and can make an informed decision about what purchase. In the case of paints and varnishes, the EU recognizes the distinctive flower as a symbol to identify quality products that are less harmful to the environment. The European Ecolabel for flower notes, among other things, that in a certain product environmental criteria have been applied in production of pigments, that the product emits a smaller amount of solvents and contains no toxic heavy metals and carcinogenic substances. To be awarded the EU eco-label, products must meet all criteria established for that purpose and to take into account the entire life cycle of the product: production, use and disposal. "The EU eco-label is only awarded to products that can be guaranteed at least equivalent efficacy to conventional products," say its promoters. "
Comment:
In my opinion it is very important that is increasingly aware of the advantages of the management of ecological paints, not only because it cares environment, but because sepueden achieve the same finish as dse obtained with traditional paints. This is a great alternative that will undoubtedly be used as reference in the Landscape Workshop, TV and the living room!
